welcome to the bar @ makenzie layne, the place to create a custom hat as unique as you. hosting a party at the hat bar is a fun way to create memories while also creating a piece as unique as you!

parties are booked for 5-10 guests. whether its a bridal party, birthday party or just a reason to get the girls together, parties are a private experience with designated time at the hat bar. when you book a party, you will enjoy design time with our expert stylists, complimentary beverages and a private party room. book your party here!

guests may purchase a hat or bring one of their own. if looking for a specific color, shape or size, we encourage you to reach out to ensure there will be a style you love on hand.

Please note: A reservation is only needed for those creating a hat. If your party is larger than 10 people, please reach out to our lead stylist to discuss options.

on the day of your party, we ask that the host arrive at least 5 minutes prior to check in and get everything settled. all party participants must arrive within the first 15 minutes of the party. your stylist will review the party agenda and begin designing promptly. If a participant arrives more than 15 minutes after the start time, we can not guarantee there will be time to design their hat.

if you need to reschedule your party, you must do so at least 7 business days prior to party date. at that time, one can reschedule with no additional fees. cancellations will result in forfeiting of styling fees. hosting a party requires additional staff and we must plan accordingly if cancellations or reschedules are needed.

Q. how long is the party? 

A. parties range from 2.5-3 hours and we ask that you please block that time off in your schedule. design time can vary from hat to hat. should you decide to leave prior to your hat being designed, you are choosing to forfeit your styling fee. We have games and of course clothes to entertain you. you are also more than welcome to bring your own activities.

 Q. what is the cost?

A. our hats rand in price from $59.99 to $129.99. accessories range from $3-79 each. depending on what hat and accessories you choose, an average hat will cost between $150-$250. a good rule of thumb: more detailed = more expensive.

*your styling fee is not applied to the cost. that covers the time and skill of your stylist.

Q. can I bring in my own hat or accessories?

A. absolutely! we are happy to design a hat you already own. please note that certain design features require particular hat materials. our stylist reserves the right to decline working on a hat brought in. 

as for accessories, we would love to see your hat be reflective of you, so yes! from photos to pins, you are more than welcome to bring your items; however, we can not guarantee that each item can be used.  

Q. do you brand/burn?

A. 100% wool or felt hats can be branded or burned. we do not burn any polyester materials. makenzie layne will have the final say on if a hat can be burned. branding is $6/brand. burning is subject to design.

Q. can we bring food & snacks?

A. of course! you are more than welcome to bring your own refreshments and snacks. you are responsible for all serving trays, utensils and plates. we also ask that you clean up after your party.

*we do reserve the right to "cut you off". 

Q. what happens if I don't show up/change my mind on my design?

A. if an individual does not show up to the party, they will forfeit their styling fee. if you notify makenzie layne of absence prior to the party, we will reallocate your fee to a one on one appointment. if you are overwhelmed during the party or simply can't decide, we will also reallocate your fee to a one on one. this new appointment must be booked during the party. *no refunds.
